The Sir Charles Cottage is just one of the four lovely Much Dewchurch Holiday Cottages. A family run business the cottages were originally the old Scudamore racing stables converted back in the late nineties. Set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside with panoramic views over The Black Mountains. The village has a 14th century pub just a 10 minute walk from the cottages and the local shop is just 1 mile away.
The cottage sleeps 6 adults – Downstairs is an open plan lounge/dining and kitchen area with fully fitted kitchen with electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge and table top freezer. This cottage also benefits from a downstairs double bedroom with wardrobe space, a bunk bed room with wardrobe space great for the younger members of the family. A separate shower room with wash basin and toilet is also located on the ground floor. Upstairs via a saver step staircase, there is a further twin bedroom and bathroom adjacent with bath, wash basin and toilet.
A travel cot and/or highchair can be provided if required.
The property also benefits from oil central heating, TV/DVD and Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are provided.
To the front of the property, there is a picnic table and barbeque looking out upon the village of Much Dewchurch and The Black Mountains beyond.
Suitable for families this property can be booked alone or along with others to accommodate larger parties.
With golf, horse riding, fishing canoeing and many more activities at hand. For a great get away to rural England, Herefordshire offers a wonderful opportunity. Convenient for Hay-on-Wye, famous for its literary festival, Ludlow with fine food, Brecon and the Forest of Dean for walks and cycling, and Cheltenham with its famous race course and shops. Visit castles, historic houses and ancient churches. Shop in the market town and take a little of Hereford back home. Shops 1 1/2 miles, public houses 1/2 mile.

It’s a good jumping off point for further exploration with Worcester, Hereford, Brecon Beacons, Ross on Wye, Hay on Wye and multiple big National Trust places within an hours drive. Also in Wormelow (2-3 min drive away), there is the Violette Szabo museum.
“Beautiful surroundings, lovely cottage, wonderful hosts”
We arrived on a cold Saturday afternoon and entered the cottage to discover the heating had been put on for us. Thank goodness! Hosts were wonderful and friendly.
